Is your WordPress site hacked?

If you see any of these signs, your site is most likely infected. The longer it stays that way, the more damage it does to your traffic and reputation.

Redirects to spam sites

Visitors land on casino, pharma or scam pages, often only on mobile or from Google.

“This site may be hacked”

Google, the browser or your antivirus shows a red warning in front of your site.

Strange pages in Google

Search results show pages you never created, in other languages or with spam keywords.

Unknown admin users

New administrators appear, or you are locked out of your own dashboard.

Slow site, high CPU

Hidden miners or spam scripts eat your server resources and slow everything down.

Your emails land in spam

Your domain or server IP is blacklisted because hidden scripts on your site send spam emails.

Suspended by your host

Your hosting provider disabled the account for malware or outgoing spam.

What the cleanup includes

Security plugins only find what they already know. We are server administrators: we look at files, the database, the logs and the server itself, and we remove the infection at its source.

Full malware scan

Files, database, cron jobs and server processes.

Manual malware removal

Infected code removed, clean code kept.

Backdoor removal

Hidden shells and fake plugins that let attackers back in.

Database cleanup

Injected scripts, spam links and rogue admin users.

Core file integrity check

WordPress core, themes and plugins compared to originals

Root cause report

How the attacker got in, in plain words.

Blacklist removal

Review requests to Google Safe Browsing and other lists.

Updates & password reset

Outdated components updated, all credentials rotated.

Imunify360 deep scan

Server-level malware scanner that finds and cleans infected files many plugins miss.

Email spam cleanup

Hidden mailer scripts removed, outgoing spam stopped, domain and IP delisted from spam blacklists.

How it works

Contact us

Tell us what you see. We reply fast by email, Telegram, WhatsApp or Discord.

Free assessment & quote

We check the site and agree a fixed price with you before any work starts.

Cleanup & hardening

We perform backups, cleanup, secure the entry point, and strengthen the website’s defenses. Most sites are processed within 2–3 hours.

Report & guarantee

You get a short report of what we found and fixed, plus our 7-day guarantee.

Cleaning is half the job. We also lock the door.

Most sites get re-infected because the hole is still open. After every cleanup we harden the site and, if it runs on our servers, the server too.

Web application firewall

Blocks known attacks before they reach WordPress.

Two-factor login

Stolen passwords alone are no longer enough.

Correct file permissions

PHP execution disabled where it does not belong.

Login protection

Brute-force limits and XML-RPC locked down.

Automatic backups

Off-site copies so you can always roll back.

DDoS & bot protection

Filters bad traffic at the network level.

Imunify360 real-time protection

Continuous malware scanning, proactive defense and automatic cleanup on RootHosts servers.

Email protection

SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up correctly and outgoing mail monitored, so your emails reach the inbox.

Not on WordPress? We clean those too.

Malware does not care which CMS you use, and neither do we. Our engineers work at file, database and server level, so we clean and harden other CMS platforms and custom-built sites with the same process, report and guarantee.

Joomla

Infected extensions, injected templates and rogue Super Users removed.

Drupal

Backdoors and compromised modules cleaned, core restored and patched.

Magento / Adobe Commerce

Card-skimming scripts (Magecart), payment page injections and admin backdoors removed.

PrestaShop & OpenCart

Infected modules, checkout injections and spam pages cleaned.

Custom PHP sites

Hand-built sites and frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter, checked line by line.

Static & HTML sites

Injected redirects, hidden iframes and spam links removed.

Imunify360 real-time protection

Continuous malware scanning, proactive defense and automatic cleanup on RootHosts servers.

Email protection

SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up correctly and outgoing mail monitored, so your emails reach the inbox.

Frequently Asked Questions

About RootHosts IT Support and Hosting

Most sites are clean within [2-3] hours after we get access. Large or heavily infected sites, WooCommerce stores and server-level infections can take longer. In that case we give you a clear time estimate together with the quote, before any work starts.

Blacklist removal is the only part that does not depend on us. We send the review request to Google the same day the site is clean; Google usually processes it within a few days.

No. We clean WordPress sites on any hosting: shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers or managed WordPress.

If your site runs on RootHosts servers, we can also protect the server itself, with a firewall, DDoS filtering, monitoring and Imunify360 real-time malware protection. Moving to us is optional, never a condition.

Usually three things: a WordPress administrator account, file access (SFTP, SSH or your hosting control panel such as cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin) and database access (phpMyAdmin or database credentials).

We recommend creating separate, temporary accounts for us instead of sharing your own passwords. You can delete them as soon as the work is done, and we rotate all passwords at the end of the cleanup anyway.

If you are not sure how to create these accounts, we walk you through it.

No. Before we change anything, we make a full backup of your files and database. We remove only malicious code, spam pages and rogue users; your posts, pages, products, orders and settings stay as they are.

Cleaning usually helps your SEO. We remove the spam pages Google indexed, request the blacklist review and, if you give us access to Google Search Console, help you remove the spam URLs from search results. Rankings lost because of the hack usually recover once Google re-crawls the clean site, but the exact timing depends on Google.

Every cleanup comes with a 7-day re-infection guarantee. If the same infection comes back within 7 days, we clean it again for free.

With the Clean + Protection plan you are covered for as long as you are subscribed: if the site is ever hacked again, the cleanup is free.

Because we find and close the entry point, re-infection is rare. Most repeat hacks we see elsewhere happen because only the visible malware was removed, not the backdoor or the hole it came through.

You approve a fixed price before we start. You pay 50% to start the work and the remaining 50% only when the site is clean and you have checked it.

We accept [Bank transfer, Revolut, Wise, PayPal, card payments]

and issue an invoice for every payment. The Clean + Protection plan is billed monthly and you can cancel at any time.

Both. We scan the site with Imunify360, a professional server-level security suite that detects and cleans known malware automatically. Then our engineers check the files, database and logs by hand, because new and custom backdoors are often not in any scanner database yet.

Tools find the known infections fast; manual work finds what tools miss and the hole the attacker used.

Yes. Hacked sites are often used to send spam through hidden mailer scripts or stolen email accounts. We find and remove the scripts, secure the mail accounts, stop the outgoing spam and request removal of your domain and IP from spam blacklists such as Spamhaus.

We also check SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, so your legitimate emails reach the inbox again.

Yes. We access your site only for the agreed work, never copy or share your content or customer data, and we can sign an NDA if you need one. After the cleanup all access you gave us can be removed.

Yes. Most providers re-enable the account temporarily or give file access for the cleanup. We clean the site and give you a cleanup report you can send to your provider to get the account fully restored.
